Lovelies: National Wear Red Day Edition

Lovelies is a bi-weekly feature on what I'm loving in the moment, with a focus on local or independent lady artisans.

February is American Heart Month & today is National Wear Red Day!

The American Heart Association is very near & dear to me. Most of us aren't aware that each year one out of three women will die of heart disease or stroke. The odds aren't in our favor but prevention is possible, thanks to donations that lead to scientific research in heart health.

This exquisite vintage piece from Concetta's Closet is the perfect way to spread awareness this month! This cherry red 1940s wool dress is perfect for chilly February weather. Twirl your heart away!

"I pick through my racks & try to think of where the previous owner would have worn that piece. Perhaps she had her first kiss in that dress, or met someone famous in that coat. We may never know, but it sure is nice to dream about it."

The owner & curator, Dana Hanson, is super successful & her story of discovering her passion can't help but inspire you. You can pick up this dress & other vintage pieces online. She also has a brick & mortar store in New Hampshire.

What red outfits are you rockin' this month?
